Discussion of PSRC/EDD proposal for updated criteria for the Regional Centers Framework
The Economic Development District Board has been working on a comprehensive update to the Regional Economic Goals and Strategies. Their final draft is going out for review and 30-day public comment period on March 22.
An important element of that work revolves around focusing new growth in Regional Centers. Centers are important for eligibility for certain transportation funding.
Patrick will give us an overview of the draft proposal, and lead a discussion on how we can work together to ensure that Snohomish County’s interests are equitably reflected in the final plan.
PSRC: "Amazing Place", and AWC-CFQC: "Eco-nomics"
We will also hear from Everett City Councilmember and AWC Immediate Past President Paul Roberts. PSRC is seeking input on the “Amazing Place” (Growing jobs and opportunity in the central Puget Sound region) as part of the economic development strategy.
In a related but separate effort, Paul has been working with AWC Center for Quality Communities on an “Eco-nomics” strategy to grow the green economy in Washington State, obviously including the Puget Sound region and the manufacturing centers in Snohomish County.
Paul will give us a short overview of these new, important initiatives and discuss how all Snohomish County jurisdictions can participate.
